Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home having a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research at a general public nsfas 2025 university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until 2025 nsfas application the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
